Dear Friends I know this family well and can assure you that they are in genuine need for help from the community. Please give whatever you can. It’s truly a sad situation as the family has been going through traumatic times for some time now and have resisted asking for help from the community. Although having serious health challenges Mr.Daruwalla was working and his wife Katy was also travelling far and wide to make ends meet. But now I think they unfortunately had to take this course.

Please give whatever you can, no gift is big or small, they are in need for help from the community. If you have any questions please feel free to connect with me. Ushta Te and God Bless.

PS PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.THANKYOU

Dear friends:

I just came across the news about one of our very own Zoroastrian family Katie and Minoo Daruwalla living in Whitby who is going through a real financial hardship.  They have 2 university going children.  Minoo suffers from a rare form of Terminal cancer and they need financial assistance.  I am writing to you all my good friends to HELP them out with whatever you can.  Below are all the details from Katy.  This is really a genuine case and I know Katy personally while helping her with her job search.  Please show your true Zoroastrian feelings and give generously.  You can make chq. payable to Katie Daruwalla and mail to my address I will collect them and deliver to her together with a nice GET WELL card from all of us. My address is:  5508 Spangler Dr., Mississauga, ON, L5R 3A2.  Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU

HERE ARE THE DETAILS FROM KATIE

I would like to briefly inform you about our family. We live in North Whitby in a semi detach town house, with 2 children who at present are full time students at two different Universities namely University of Toronto and University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Their names are Mehrshad and Farzeen.

My husband Minoo at present 55 years of age and has been battling Cancer for over 5 years. He had his right leg (below the knee) amputated in 2010, in a few months the cancer traveled to his lungs, and this kept on moving from place to place. The next year at the Toronto General Hospital he had ½ of his left lung removed. With the same year the cancer traveled to his right lung. He underwent a couple of chemotherapy’s in house at Mt Sinai in hands of Dr. M. Blackstein. With passage of time I certainly may not remember the year but soon he was back on the operating table and they removed the lower part of his right lung and a part of the diaphragm and they attach some silicon stuff to replace the removed part. With time he had quite a few chemotherapies with different chemicals. His cancer is considered a rare type and not much is known. It’s called METASTATIC SYNOVIAL SARCOMA.

This year he was admitted on 22 of Jan in Mt. Sinai till the 24 of Feb for further investigation and treatment. He was administered morphine in spite of no pain and was going downhill, so we brought him home, where he is doing much better, he walks, eats and he is sharp mentally. He uses a hospital bed, a commode, a walker, a wheelchair and there is a rental charge of $516.a month. The cancer makes him anemic due to the bleeding of his sarcoma, and he gets blood transfusion every few weeks. His recent one was 3 weeks back at the Lakeridge Hospital as it is close to home, but he needs ambulance to be transported and which there is a cost of $200 both ways. Once I get the Invoice I will mail it to you

I am with this fighter 24 hours. Had to give up work, he is on OXYGEN all time, and I got to monitor his supply.

Thank you all for your time and effort in helping us.

Regards

Katie
